LB split season-opening games

The Beeville Lady Trojans defeated the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas for the second year in a row in a foul-infested game here Friday night, 50-40.

The referees about wore out their whistles with 42 foul shots taken in the game.

The Lady Brahmas had more turnovers than a bakery (38) to Beeville’s 21.

After a slow-moving first quarter, Beeville led 8-6.
