St. Paul baseball: Flatonia pulls off late rally against SP, 9-7
The Cardinals came in within one inning of getting a win against Flatonia but it was not in the cards.
The Bulldogs trailed 6-3 after six innings before scoring six runs in the top of the seventh and holding St. Paul to one run in a 9-7 victory.
Flatonia led 2-1 after the first inning and outscored St. Paul 1-0 in the third. St. Paul grabbed the lead with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Zeke Rodriugez led St. Paul hitting as he was 3-for-4, two RBI and one run while Nate Boedeker was 2-for-3, run, RBI and triple. Blaine Humes got a double, scored twice and brought in two runs.
Jack Leonard started on the mound, went four innings with three runs on three hits, two walks and three strikes. Cody Malinovsky went 2 2/3 innings with one run on two hits, walk and two strikeouts. Carter Novak went 1/3 innings to close out, ceding five runs on two hits and a pair of walks.
In the field, Boedeker had six putouts.
