St. Paul football: Cardinals battle Schulenburg and Bartlett in final scrimmage

SCHULENBURG — The St. Paul football team got a clear gauge on where they were at following a tri scrimmage against two tough opponents.The Cardinals got two for the price of one as they battled Schulenburg and Bartlett at David Husemann Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

Indian Open Saturday

The Annual Indian Open Golf Classic is scheduled for Saturday at Hallettsville Municipal Golf Course. The tournament benefits Sacred Heart School teachers.The format is a three-person scramble with a 9:30 a.m. tee off. Entry fee is $225 per team and includes lunch.

Tribe to be tested by Schulenburg

Sacred Heart will be tested by the Schulenburg Shorthorns in its season opener in Schulenburg Friday evening. Kickoff time is 7:30 a Shorthorn Stadium.Schulenburg will be dedicating its field to coaching legend David Husmann, who was the father-in-law of Indian coach Alex Seydler.
