Shiner softball: Lady Comanches softball went 3-0 last week

The Shiner Comanches beat Louise and Flatonia in three-inning home district games last week and won at Nixon over the weekend.Shiner 15, Flatonia 0Shiner head softball coach Jason Keller wants his team to play relaxed and loose, and not put too much pressure on themselves.

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Bulldog Soccer Team has been battling adversity provided by the injury bug.The adversity continued as the Yoakum Bulldogs lost against rival Gonzales 5-0 at Apache Field on Friday.The personnel issues has required the Bulldogs to switch up some of the positions.

Girls Basketball All-District: Gonzales wins Co-6th Man of the Year

The Lady Bulldogs had several athletes win All-District awards including one special award.Madison Gonzales won Co-6th Man of the YearFirst-Team award winner was Jayana Phillips. Olivia Fojt and Destiny Rios both made the Second Team.Aaliyah Wildrey received Honorable Mention.

YOAKUM – Hallettsville lost its final game of the Yoakum Tournament Saturday, 10-1, to La Vernia, a team they had beaten earlier in the tourney.The Bears’ Austin Lewis held the Brahmas to only four hits, two by Brock Bludau.
