WIMBERLEY – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas lapped the field in the Wimberley Tournament over the weekend in going 4-0.
The LB (11-1) defeated Weimar, 8-5, Saturday in five innings in a game where the time limit caught up with the teams.

Shiner girls golf: LC golf get victory in Victoria

The Shiner girls golf team scored 402 points to win the Victoria Riverside Tournament on Feb. 21.
The Lady Comanches squeezed out Industrial who had 409.
Chelsea Whiddon scored a 92 for first-place medalist. Bri Sofka carded a 94 for third place.

Shiner baseball: Shiner baseball goes 3-1 at Columbus Tournament

The Shiner Comanches led 3-0 after one and half innings in their opener at Hallettsville on Feb. 19 before the Brahmas rallied for a 9-3 win.

The St. Paul Cardinals baseball team went 1-2 at the Lockhart Tournament.

Zeke Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two runs, double and Nate Boedeker hit 2-for-3, a run, two doubles and two RBI as St. Paul beat Austin Hyde Park 4-2 to start the tournament.

Ahead of Bryan St. Joseph 13-11 at halftime in the TAPPS 2A area game at Fayetteville on Feb. 20, St. Paul managed just seven points while yielding 30 points to St. Joseph to exit the playoffs in a 41-20 loss.

GIDDINGS — Shiner’s inexperience, combined with Thorndale’s tenacity, resulted in a 69-32 win for the Bulldogs in the bi-district round Feb. 20 at Giddings High School.
The Comanches fell behind early and were unable to significantly close the gap.

BUDA — Shiner’s return to the regional tournament for the first time since 2020 did not result in history being made but will still provide happy memories for the team and program.
Shiner came up short to San Saba 66-58 in the first regional semifinal Friday evening at Buda Johnson High School.

Moulton boys basketball: Katz dispatch Dime Box, Knippa in playoffs

LA GRANGE — The Moulton Bobkatz started off hot, cooled off a little then finished strong in their bi-district game against Dime Box.
Trent Meisetschleager led all scorers with 29 points and equalled the Longhorns scoring as he led the Katz to a 64-29 win Feb. 19 at La Grange High School.

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldog Powerlifting Team came in seventh at the Louise meet on Feb. 10.
Deavia Johnson earned runner up in the 181-pound class with a total of 660, 260 squat, 125 bench press, and 275 deadlift.
