Shiner volleyball: Shiner wins Silver Bracket in Schulenburg

The Shiner Lady Comanches volleyball team went 5-3 and won the Silver Bracket Championship last Thursday through Saturday in the Schulenburg Championship. Pool A Shiner went 2-1 on the first pool play day Thursday, coming in second in Pool A.

Shiner volleyball: LC win home opener vs Edna

The Shiner Lady Comanches volleyball team beat 3A Edna in three, 25-18, 25-22, 25-10 at home Aug. 15. Meghan Blaschke had 10 assists, two digs, one kill; Callie Sevcik added five digs, three kills, two assists, two blocks.

St. Paul football: Cards start with FHS

The St. Paul Cardinals played their second scrimmage of the season, at Weimar on last Thursday and will open at Flatonia Weimar Scrimmage The Cardinals scrimmaged Weimar and Rice Consolidated in Weimar. St. Paul and Weimar each scored one touchdown while the Cardinals scored once against Rice.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals find way to win in five-set match against Flatonia

The Lady Cardinals needed to make a personnel change in the third set of their season opener against Flatonia with a 2-0 lead in the match. Flatonia took advantage of the change and St. Paul serving struggles in the fourth game to tie the match at 2-2 before St. Paul came back to win the third game.

Shiner football: Comanches get after Burton in final scrimmage

Yoakum cross country: Lady 'Dogs place fourth at home meet

The Yoakum cross-country teams ran at the Yoakum Invitational to kick off the season. Varsity Girls The Lady Bulldogs recorded 105 points to take fourth place. Gracei Martinez led Yoakum with a No. 11 finish in 10 minutes, 2.43 seconds. Angela Flores was No. 16 in 10:08.

Moulton cross country: Kitten harriers place No. 10 in Yoakum meet
