St. Paul boys basketball: Bucs hit outside shots to down Cardinals 85-71

St. Paul head coach BJ Terrill and his coaching staff had a game plan for the Galveston O’Connell Buccaneers. They were going to allow O’Connell to take lots of outside shots and not get inside as the Buccaneers’ games they had seen, O’Connell had not hit too many threes.

Shiner girls basketball: Shiner girls finish as area finalists

SMITHVILLE — In the fourth quarter against Granger in the bi-district round, the Lady Comanches had a double-digit lead.However, Shiner did not always make the wisest of choices but still held on for a 55-48 win Feb. 16 at Smithville High School.

St. Paul girls basketball: St. Paul girls defeat Valor Prep to book first trip to state since 2022

2026 Yoakum High School Bulldog Basketball Team

The Yoakum High School Bulldog Basketball Team played against Tidehaven Tigers and won 55-41 in Yoakum Feb. 13.X’Zavier Barnett scored 17 points along with Elyas Garza also with 17 points. The game was for the Number 2 district playoff seed. Tidehaven was eliminated from the playoffs.

Yoakum tennis places second at Beeville

The Yoakum tennis team has competed in the Beeville and Wharton tournaments as well as a home tournament to start the season.BEEVILLE TOURNAMENTYoakum got second place overall in the Beeville Tournament on Jan. 28.

Brahmas 3rd in first tourney

VICTORIA – The Hallettsville Brahmas finished third in their first golf tournament of the season at Riverside Park Golf Course Wednesday, February 11.The Brahmas shot a team total of 354. Calhoun won first with a 347 and Edna was second, recording a 351.
