Local youth sports: Legends 14U softball team wins tournament

The Lonestar Legends 14U softball team turned in a dominant performance at the PS4 Sandlot Tournament on Saturday in New Braunfels, going undefeated in four impressive outings. The Legends’ bats came alive throughout the day, producing 27 total runs while their defense held opponents to just seven.

St. Paul head coach BJ Terrill and his coaching staff had a game plan for the Galveston O’Connell Buccaneers. They were going to allow O’Connell to take lots of outside shots and not get inside as the Buccaneers’ games they had seen, O’Connell had not hit too many threes.
