Lady Cardinals win district title

SHINER – Sacred Heart had a chance to tie for the District 5 Division IV title.The St. Paul Lady Cardinals (20-7, 6-0), however, took a 36-15 victory over the Indianettes Thursday night.The Indianettes finished district 4-2 and will host Waco Bishop Reicher Friday in a bidistrict match Friday.

Brahmas take victory over Tidehaven

The Hallettsville Brahmas split two games last week.The Brahmas defeated Tidehaven in El Maton Tuesday, Feb. 3, 60-42.Hallettsville leapt out to an 18-5 lead at the end of the first quarter behind six points by Gavyn Chapa.

Indians drop season finale

SHINER – The Sacred Indians dropped their season finale to St. Paul Thursday night, 83-58, in a TAPPS District 5, Division IV contest.The Cardinals (20-5, 5-1) had a 21-12 lead at the end of the first quarter with Carter Chilek leading the charge with eight points.

TAPPS Realignment for 2026-28

TAPPS announced its realignment for 2026-2028 last week.The Sacred Heart Indians are assigned to Division IV - District 2 in football with Temple Central Christian School, Houston Northland Christian, Tomball Rosehill Christian and St. Paul.

Shiner girls basketball: Weimar gets buzzer shot to edge Shiner

Weimar scored at the buzzer to complete the season sweep of Shiner.With less than eight seconds to go in the game and a 40-40 tie, Weimar’s Cook got the ball and went up for a shot that went into the basket at the buzzer to give the Lady Wildcats a 42-40 win over Shiner  Feb.

The St. Paul Cardinals handled Sacred Heart Thursday at home in a 83-58 win that seals up a share of the district title.The Cardinals played less than perfect and have room for improvement.“It is a rivalry game and those games usually end up physical like this one was,” St.

Shiner boys basketball: Comanches put away Weimar with big fourth period

The Comanches matured pretty quickly in the fourth quarter against Weimar.They outscored the visiting Wildcats 19-9 for a 71-58 win Feb. 3 at home.“We showed some maturity in that fourth quarter.

St. Paul girls: Lady Cards beat Bracken, Sacred Heart to end regular season

The St. Paul girls basketball team was more patient and calm in their home game to Sacred Heart on Thursday.Kristin Cerny sank two triples and scored 12 points to lead St. Paul to a 36-15 win over Sacred Heart in the regular-season finale.

Moulton boys basketball: Moulton boys won two last week

The Bobkatz outscored Nordheim 37-22 in the second half to pull away for a 78-59 win Feb. 3 at home.Moulton led 25-23 after one quarter and scored 16 of 30 points in the second frame.The Katz held a 17-13 advantage in the third stanza and finished up in the fourth quarter with a 20-9 run.
