The Shiner Junior Varsity Purple finished the season as district champions with 9-0 record and 18-3 overall.

Shiner volleyball: Lady Comanches serve-receive, serving on point against Ganado

The Lady Comanche serving and serve-receive was outstanding in a 25-13, 25-7, 25-9 win over Ganado on Oct. 21.“They had the goal of not missing serves and having good serve-receive, and they accomplished it,” Lady Comanches head coach Desiree Nitsch said.

Shiner cross country: Shiner cross country regional meet results

The Shiner varsity cross-country teams wrapped up the season last Tuesday in the Regional meet in Corpus Christi.GirlsThe Lady Comanches recorded 493 points for No. 20.Hailey Radicke was Shiner’s top finisher with No. 58 in 15 minutes, 3.4 seconds.Alena Winkenwerder was No. 101 with a time of 16:35.

Shiner football: Shiner intense in 61-6 rout of Pettus

Coming off of a big win at Falls City on Oct. 17, the Comanches were looking to make corrections and bring intensity.On Friday against Pettus, Shiner accomplished both in a 61-6 win to improve to 8-0 and 3-0 in district play.“We upped the intensity at the practice this week and tried to get better.

St. Paul cross country: Lady Cardinals add another state title to collection

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals cross-country team added another state title by taking the 2025 TAPPS 2A race with 41 points, nine better than 50 points by Valor Prepartory Academy (50).Kristin Cerny was the top finisher for St. Paul with fifth place overall in 13 minutes, 35.

At the start of the season, Hallettsville Lady Brahma coach Courtney Olbert promised her team would make the playoffs.That promise came to fruition when the Lady Brahmas (24-17, 10-2)defeated Rice Consolidated and Palacios last week.Hallettsville had Columbus and Industrial left on its schedule.
