ROSENBERG – The Hallettsville Major League All-Stars went unscathed in winning the Texas East State Tournament.Hallettsville defeated Sealy, 10-1, Monday evening to advance to the Southwest Regional Tournament in Waco.

The annual Shiner Half Moon Holiday 5K run had around 60 participants. Overall female winner was Mackinly Kifer and overall male winner was Bryson Gibbs.

St. Paul baseball: Zak Johnson appears in 21 games for Bearkat baseball

St. Paul 2022 graduate Zak Johnson, a junior who transferred in from Temple Junior College, made 21 appearances for the Bearkat baseball team in the 2025 season.Sam Houston State went 12-43 overall, 6-21 in conference play, a 9-21 home record, 2-19 on the road and 1-3 mark at neutral sites.

KARNES CITY – The Hallettsville Major League All Stars’ season came to an end with two straight losses in the Section 3 Tournament Tuesday, July 1.The All Stars led West Columbia 4-0 Tuesday, July 1 before everything went haywire.

KARNES CITY – Good pitching, defense and hitting carried the Hallettsville Major League girls to the Section 4 Tournament championship in the games played at Drs. C.W. and Joyce Kimble field.
