Shiner football: Doug Brooks, Tyler Palmer see action in TAMUK 2024 season

Shiner graduates Tyler Palmer (2021) and Doug Brooks (2022) each played some in the 2024 season for the Javelina football team.The Javelinas were 7-4 and 6-3 in conference play, 3-3 at home and 4-1 on the road.

MLB wins Dist. Title

Hallettsville Major League baseball advanced to the Sectional Tournament by sweeping New Braunfels Red.Alex Grahmann pitched a one-hitter in a 1-0 victory on Monday, June 23 in Lockhart.Grahmann gave up five hits, no walks and struck out six in going the distance.

8U wins Title

The Hallettsville 8U All Stars won the District 31 championship with 10-4 victory over New Braunfels White in Yoakum Tuesday, June 17.Hallettsville scored five runs in the top of the first inning. Grayson Fletcher was safe on an error, and Rhett Sklar singled.

Local youth sports:Shiner Minor SB concludes season in district title series

The Shiner Minor Softball team finished as District 31 runner up after splitting with Canyon Lake June 23 and 24.Shiner took a 6-2 win June 23 in the opener in Hallettsville and then battled hard but came up short in Canyon Lake on June 24, 10-0.

Minor League boys win District East Zone title

The Hallettsville Minor League All Stars defeated Shiner, 15-5, in five innings to win the District 31 East Zone championship here Friday.Hallettsville had only seven hits and took advantage of six walks, a hit batsman and four errors.

Minor League girls hit a bump in the road

A reversal in fortune occurred when the Minor League girls lost to Shiner twice in the finals of District 21 East Zone Tournament here.Hallettsville went to the finals undefeated before losing to Shiner twice – 13-6 Friday and 9-6 Sunday evening.

Girls defeat Yoakum in finals

LOCKHART – The Hallettsville Major League (11-12) All Stars routed Yoakum via the run the rule, 13-2, in five innings to cop the District 31 East Zone title at American Legion Field Saturday evening.Hallettsville went through the tournament undefeated.

Shiner Little League: LL All-Stars- Minor girls win district 31 EZ title

Shiner Little League minor and major softball and baseball teams competed in their East District 31 tournaments in Hallettsville and Lockhart. The minor softball team won the District 31 title.Minor SoftballShiner 7, Moulton 0Shiner blanked Moulton 7-0 in their opener on June 13.
