Bulldogs lose against Cobras in seeding game for fourth place

Last week, Yoakum split the series with Columbus and played Industrial in Victoria April 28 to determine fourth place with the ‘Dogs coming up short to the Cobras to finish the season.

Gonzalez named Brahma soccer coach

The Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees met in a special-called meeting Monday evening and approved the hiring of Jesus “Jessie” Gonzalez as the new Brahma soccer coach.Gonzalez is from San Antonio and has been coaching for a few years and enjoyed some playoff successes.

Shiner baseball: Shiner beats FHS 10-2 to claim district title

The Shiner Comanches baseball team secured the district title with a 10-2 win at Flatonia on April 22 to conclude the regular season.Shiner scored one run to start the game and took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.The Bulldogs managed to tie the game at 2-2 in the fourth inning.

BELLVILLE — A four-run fourth inning and three-run seventh inning helped St. Paul baseball get past the bi-district hurdle.St. Paul defeated Baytown Christian 14-2 April 22 at Bellville Faith Academy.

St Paul track and field: St. Paul girls place third at regional meet; boys get third

SEGUIN — The St. Paul girls track team got second place and the boys came in third Friday at the TAPPS 2A/3A south regional meet at Seguin ISD”s Matador Stadium.St. Paul will have 13 athletes at the state meet later this week in Waco.GirlsThe Lady Cardinals scored 107 points to take the team silver.
