Practice for fall sports begins Monday

The Hallettsville Brahmas begin workouts for the 2024 season Monday and coach Levi Montgomery expects 65 or so kids.The Brahmas will work out from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, Tuesday Aug. 6 from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.

End of the road for Brahmas in 9-7 loss to Cobras

KARNES CITY –The Hallettsville Brahmas just simply ran out of ammunition.The Brahmas succumbed to Vanderbilt Industrial, 9-7, at Curtis Perkins Field Friday night in the third round of the playoffs.The Brahmas made a tremendous comeback after trailing 5-0 and 9-3.

KARNES CITY – Hallettsville seemed headed for a runrule game with Lytle after leading 7-0 in its area round playoff contest.But things got a little dicey after Lytle rallied for three runs in the sixth inning before the Brahmas held on for a 7-3 victory at Perkins Field Friday night.

Brahmas win first-ever state track championship

Who would have thunk it! The Hallettsville Brahmas went to the UIL State Track and Field Championships Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium with just four athletes and shared a state championship with Yoakum with each scoring 36 points.

Brahmas send relay to state meet

SEGUIN –The Hallettsville Brahmas’ best wasn’t good enough at the Region IV-3A meet Friday and Saturday.The 4x200 relay finished second in 1:28.48 to qualify for state. The group was made up of Damarion Austin, Layne Gerke, Caden Willis and Rashaun Sidney.The Brahmas had three third place finishers.
