Zachary named defensive player of the year

Lady Brahma Hanna Zachary was named Defensive Player of the Year on the District 25-AAA team.Zachary was a threeyear starter and made all-district all three years.

Brahmas, Lady Brahmas honored

Hallettsville athletes were honored at the Sports Award Banquet held at the KC Hall Sunday evening.Alaina Halata was named Lady Brahma of the Year and Jorian Wilson and Aiden Drozd Brahmas of the Year.Austin Henrichs and Kenedy Wood were given the Fighting Heart Award.

Squaws eliminate LB

Jourdanton swept the Lady Brahmas in the area round of the playoffs 9-1 and 4-0.The LB had a lack of offense because of the pitching of Jourdanton’s Hailey Sralik.The LB (23-6) had only two hits in the 4-0 victory here Friday afternoon and only had three runners as far as second base.

Gold rush

SEGUIN – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas and Brahmas combined for four gold medals at the Class 3A Region IV Track and Field Meet at Seguin High School Thursday and Friday at Seguin High School.The top two finishers will advance to the state meet May 1 in Austin.

LB win District Finale

Grace Halata notched her 300th career-high strikeout as the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas avenged a March 19 loss to Industrial with a 5-2 District 25-AAA victory over the Cobras here Tuesday, April 15.

LB, Brahmas third in District track and field meet

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had their best finish in ages at the District 15-AAA Track and Field Meet Wednesday and Thursday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.The Lady Brahmas and Br finished third in the meet.The LB had two double winners in Elizabeth Felcman and Danna Jansky.

Columbus edges LB, 3-1

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas had a chance to take the District 25-AAA lead but fell to Columbus, 3-1 here Friday.The victory avenged a 3-0 loss to the LB March 11 in Columbus.Mia Post was the thorn in the side of Hallettsville with a threehitter and nine strikeouts with two bases on ball.

Lady Brahmas tied for District 25-AAA lead

The best way to describe the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ District 25-AAA victory over El Maton Tidehaven is “big.”The LB (15-3, 7-2) scored four runs in the first inning and held on for a 5-4 win over the Tigerettes here Tuesday, March 25.The LB had lost, 4-2, to Tidehaven Feb. 25.

Two four-run innings were good enough in the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ 12-8 victory over Yoakum here Friday night.The victory was the 10th in a row. Hallettsville is 12-2 overall and 4-1 in district.

LB extend win streak to 8 games

Hallettsville extended its win streak to eight in a row with a 4-0 District 25- AAA victory over Edna here Friday night.Pitcher Grace Halata had a lot to do with the win and threw a complete game four-hitter and produced a 2 for 2 performance at the plate with two RBI singles.
