I love riding my horses, being outside and being a Chapter officer for my school’s FFA program,” Peebles says.” I maintain all A’s throughout the school year, and play on the varsity softball team for my school. I live on a ranch outside of Shiner, where I tend to all our livestock.”

Congratulations, Miss Mackenzie, and thank you for being an advocate for Texas agriculture.

You can follow her journey by registering at https://agherculture.com/Texas.

The Texas Miss United States Agriculture Scholarship Pageant, where girls will compete for the state crown, takes place Nov. 11-12 at the Frank W. Mayborn Civic Center, 3303 N. Third St. in Temple. Join our Texas agriculture leaders as they compete for crowns and scholarships!

Incidentally, the 2022 Miss Teen USAgriculture — the national title holder for the 16-year-old age group — is currently held by a young lady just 10 miles north of Shiner, Miss Kaylee Trejo of Moulton.

She worked her way through these very same titles herself last year in the very same pageant organization. Since winning her national crown last summer in Florida, Miss Kaylee has since gone on to claim the Miss Moulton crown and the Miss Golden Crescent crown. She is now preparing to compete for the Miss Texas title.
