The University Interscholastic League (UIL) recognized several past championship teams at its recent Class A state championship boys basketball tournament held Saturday, March 11, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, including none other than the 1998 UIL State Boys Basketball Champions, the Moulton High School Bobkatz, pictured here, both back in back in 1998 and just last weekend in San Antonio, when they celebrated their 25th year state championship anniversary.

This year’s Class A championship finals rounds came down to Benjamin vs. Graford and Tilden McMullen County v. Jayton.

Graford and Jayton advanced to the final game, with the Graford Jackrabbits claiming the 2023 state championship win 49-44 over the Jayton Jaybirds.

It marked the second state championship win for the Jackrabbits, the defending 2022 Class A state champs, and the Jaybirds ninth appearance in the state championship finals tournament.
