Court ratifies burn ban order

The Lavaca County Commissioners’ Court met in a brief special-called meeting Monday morning and ratified the burn ban order installed by County Judge Keith Mudd on March 30.

Due to the dry weather conditions, which has created a potential for wildfires and the Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) average over 500 for Lavaca County the court authorized the declaration of a burn ban.
