Hallettsville American Legion and Red Cross to host blood drive

The American Red Cross in conjunction with American Legion Post 230 is hosting a blood drive Saturday, Oct. 24 starting at 9 a.m.

The blood drive will last roughly around five hours and will be located at the American Legion Event Hall on 107 E. Park St., Hallettsville.

Those wanting to schedule their blood donation can visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter the code AMLEG230 and your appointment will be booked.

Other blood donation opportunities will be from Oct. 19 to Nov. 22. Folks wanting to participate can visit rcblood.org./Maze for details and put in a zip code of their choosing. Those wanting to donate at the American Legion Post 230 Event Hall can put in the zip code for Hallettsville, 77964, and schedule an appointment any time between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

As of right now, the only upcoming blood drive in Lavaca County supported by the Red Cross will be at the American Legion Post 230 hall on that day according to the Red Cross website.

Those donating will get a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card by email and will earn 200 bonus points toward exclusive donor rewards.
