Those kolaches didn’t stand a chance…

He may not look like all that, but one fact became blatantly obvious when Edward Kloesel stepped up to the contest table at Green Dickson Park in Shiner as part of the big Kolache Eating Contest, one of many events held as part of the second annual Pivo & Kolaches on Saturday, Oct. 22.

That is, don’t get between this fella and his groceries.

He was all business when it came to eating. He put his head down and it never came back up except for a couple swigs of his drink until he was done.

In fact, he just about lapped his competition when it came putting those things away, so much they stopped and were cheering him on before all was said and done.

You can tell he's a real diehard, too. After inhaling five kolaches at lightspeed, check out his hand in the victory lap – he grabbed one of his opponents’ kolaches to munch on later as he savored his victory.
