UIL Science Team wins second at state

    The Shiner High School UIL Science team wins second at state! The UIL State Academic Meet was held on the University of Texas campus in Austin on Monday, May 18. The team was coming into state with the 3rd best score in Texas after regionals, but ended up winning 2nd by 76 points. They have put in many hours at school and on their own time this year to get to this point. Other honors this year include 2nd at the Shiner academic meet (19 schools present), first at the Industrial meet, first at district, first at regionals and now second at state, the highest finish for any previous Shiner High School Science team. In addition to the team honors at state, Marco Lara finished 4th overall, and Bryce Pohler placed 1st in the Biology portion of the test.
