Hallet Oak Gallery’s annual fundraising gala takes place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, and they are taking RSVPs now along with donations of silent auction items.

State domino tournament set Jan.14

The 72nd Annual Texas State Championship Straight Domino Tournament will take place on Sunday, Jan. 14 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hallettsville. Registration for those wishing to play in the tournament will take place from 7 to 9 a.m. and the charge to play is $40 per team.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he was sending cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose taxing districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.9 percent more than in November 2022.
