KIST BY GRACE, a Christian Praise and Worship band based in Orchard, Texas, will be performing an Advent-Christmas Concert on Saturday, Dec. 9, Saturday, beginning at 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 615 South Eagle, Weimar.

Chronic Wasting Disease detected at research facility

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) biologists have reported a suspect-positive case of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) in a 14-month-old captive male white-tailed deer at the Kerr Wildlife Management Area (WMA) research facility.

Nursing Homes set bingo for December

The two local nursing and rehabilitation centers will host bingo games at their respective centers in December. Hallettsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, located at 825 Fairwinds, will host bingo games Dec. 19 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Traffic stop along I-10 nets pounds of dope

A traffic stop in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 at Mile Marker 661 just after noon Wednesday, Nov. 29, ended with the arrest of a Kansas man when he was reportedly found with 20 large bundles of marijuana stashed inside his vehicle, Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reported.

Social Security recipients to receive COLA increase

More than 71 million Americans will see a 3.2% increase in their Social Security benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments in 2024. On average, Social Security retirement benefits will increase by more than $50 per month starting in January.

Mingle on Main just two weeks away

The fourth annual Mingle on Main in Moulton is just two weeks away, with local Chamber directors planning a whole day’s worth of activities in downtown Moulton beginning on Saturday, Dec. 9. It will feature a whole slew of activities for the kids from noon to 4 p.m.
