and some of the best fiddlers Texas has ever known with his talents and ultimately allowed him to share the stage with some of the biggest acts around during the more than 50 years he spent on the road as a professional musician, was laid to rest last week in his hometown of El Campo.

By JIMMY APPELT Staff Writer A car chase that began near Schulenburg on Wednesday morning, Sept. 13, came to an end later that afternoon when the vehicle wrecked at the corner of Jerry and Main streets in Hallettsville.

Shiner High School Homecoming Court

The Shiner High School Homecoming festivities will be held on Friday, September 15 at half-time, at which time the Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned. Shiner will play East Bernard starting at 7:30 p.m.
Hallettsville ISD has launched a new course this year that will enable junior and senior students to gain knowledge in aerospace and aviation. The Introduction to Aerospace and Aviation will have 11 students enrolled.
