Shiner cross-country: St. Paul, Shiner harriers open season at Yoakum meet

    Shiner Catholic School and Shiner ISD cross-country runners ran in the Yoakum meet on Saturday.
    St. Paul
    Varsity Girls 
    (1.49 miles)
    St. Paul came in ninth in the team standings.
    McKinley Jacobs placed No. 19 in 10 minutes, 33.47 seconds. 
    Frances Filip was No. 35 in 11:15.00.
    Emma Marshall was clocked at 11:38.11 for No. 43; Faith Brown finished No. 48 in 11:53.88.
    Clara Kinney was No. 58 in 12:30.39 and Keaton Helweg was timed at 12:38.27 for No. 61.
    Varsity Boys 
    (2.23 miles)
    The Cardinals placed seventh.
    Gabe Darilek was the top finisher at No. 14 in 13:51.53. Carter Chilek finished in 15:59.01 for No. 39. Wesley Miller placed No. 41 in 16:06.61. Eli Barton checked in at 17:22.61 for No. 50. Jacob Arriola was No. 54 in 18:12.57.
    Open/JH Girls 
    (1.49 miles)
    St. Ludmila won the race with 18 points.
    Jesslyn Garrett was No. 11 in 11:14.71, followed by Maggie Watkins (11:17.04) and Kylie Schaefer (11:17.85). 
    Hazel Mieschen was No. 19 in 12:02.77; Ainsley McCord was No. 23 in 12:24.01, followed by Becka Schaefer in 12:33.40.
    Alaina Luedke was No. 27 in 12:41.35. Gracyn Kennedy took No. 36 in 13:35.39.
    Peyton Natho was No. 43 in 14:57.83, followed by Teagan Wagner (15:03.19) and Baylee Decker (15:04.63). Autney Marshall was No. 48 in 16:20.56
    Open/JH Boys

    Ryan Bays got runner up with 8:43.22; Luke Barton was fifth in 8:43.22. Gage Janak was timed at 9:45.07 for seventh place. Phinn Ince took ninth with 10:02.86. 
    Adian McCord was clocked at 10:34.31 for No. 12.
    Eli Rother placed No. 17 in 10:56.35. Wyatt Decker was No. 29 in 12:12.63. JJ Cordova was No. 37 in 14:05.77 and Chase Brown was No. 41 in 20:06.91.

    Shiner HS runners competed in the junior-varsity races.
    JV Girls (1.49 miles)
    The Lady Comanches placed first with 33 points.
    Addison Tudyk won the race with a time of 10:42.32; Megan Burns was fourth in 11:15.54; Aliana Sofka was No. 10 in 11:45.93. 
    Kendyl Boehm finished in 11:54.3 for No. 13.
    Paisley Todd was No. 23 in 12:39.05; Jewel Caka was No. 29 with 13:09.97 and following was Dawn Bishop in 13:20.3.
    JV Boys (2.23 miles)
    The Comanches got third with 60 points.
    Joshua Lecon was the top runner with sixth place in 15:10.65.
    Tobias Gipson was No. 18 in 17:01.89.
    Logan Benavidez was No. 28 in 19:49.5 and behind him was Brandes Gremmels in 19:51.45. 
    Hudson Koncaba was No. 31 in 20:43.64.
