Evelyn Denise Tousek

Evelyn Denise Tousek went home to the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2023.  She was born in Yoakum on Dec. 19, 1949 to G.D. and Jean Stevens. She was one of four siblings.  She was a member of the Hallettsville Church of Christ.

Lillie Christine Migl Dornak

 Lillie Christine Migl Dornak, 99, of Robstown, was welcomed by our Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb.  19, 2023.  She was born to John Migl and Anastasia Koudelka Migl on July 5, 1923 in Praha. On Oct. 13, 1947 she was united in marriage with Alois Dornak at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Praha.

Shanta (Mikulenka) Foster

Shanta (Mikulenka) Foster, 65, of Weimar, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 2, 2023.  She was born in Hallettsville on Jan.  24, 1958 to Louis and Thelma Mikulenka.

Edgar John Ducho

Edgar John Ducho, 91, of Gonzales, a beloved and devoted husband, received his Heavenly wings and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 26, 2023. Ed leaves behind his loving wife, Wilma Ducho, and with God’s Blessing they had been married nearly 67 years.

Virgie Ann Welch

Virgie Ann Welch, 84, of Shiner, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 3 at Shiner Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Shiner Cemetery, with Pastor Chris Heinold officiating.

Carolyn Mae Smith-Brosh

Carolyn Mae Smith-Brosh, 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 25, 2023 after battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1 at Shiner Funeral Home, with a Life Celebration Service following at 6:30 p.m.

Gerda E. Janak

Gerda E. Janak, 86, of Shiner, passed away at the South Texas Comfort Center in Victoria on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, with her husband, Casper, at her bedside.  Her life journey began on May 12, 1936, in Dedlow, Germany, born to parents, Johanna and Maximillian Reng.

Dennis E. ‘PoPo’ Satsky Sr.

Dennis E. “PoPo” Satsky Sr., 85, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2023.  He was born on March 18, 1937, in Koerth to Louis P. and Julia Ann (Krenek) Satsky. On Feb. 4, 1961, he married Ora Findeisen in Moulton.  He received his Honorable Discharge from the US Army on Aug.

Robert ‘Bob’ Welfl

Robert “Bob” Welfl, 83,  of Yoakum, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2023. He was born Sept. 29, 1939 in Moulton, the only child born to Nick and Elsie (Hoepfl) Welfl. Bob was a member of St.

Henry Douglas Marek

Henry Douglas Marek, 78, of Nelsonville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.  He was born to Henry H. Marek and Vida (Rinn) Marek in  Industry on June 7, 1944.  His youth was spent in Austin County attending Industry school and Bellville High School, graduating in 1962.
