Shiner baseball: Shiner baseball gets thrilling win over SH in nine innings

Carson Schuette scored what would become the game-winning run as Shiner squeezed by Sacred Heart 8-7 in nine innings April 15 in Hallettsville.
The Comanches took a 2-0 lead after two innings and were up 4-0 after three-and-half squares.
Sacred Heart plated six runs in the bottom of the fourth and each team scored one run in the fifth to keep the Indians ahead 7-5.
Shiner tied the game with a two-run top of the sixth and the scoreboard was quiet until Schuette’s score in the top of the ninth, followed by the Comanches making the necessary plays in the bottom of the inning to keep SH from a walk off or another tie.
At the plate, Schuette was 2-for-3, three runs scored, one RBI; Landyn Pohler hit 1-for-3 with two RBI; Bode Werner batted 1-for-4, one run, one RBI; Kaidan Boothe was 1-for-3 with one RBI; Charlie Clifford finished 1-for-4 with one run; Boe Boehm hit 1-for-3, run and RBI.
Caleb Lehnert went 1-for-3 with one run; Jake Simper scored one run and Cale Shows had one RBI.
Schuette started on the mound, went three innings, one hit, one batter hit and four strikeouts. Werner pitched 1/3 innings with five runs, one hit, one batter hit and three walks; Boothe pitched 2/3 innings with two runs on one hit, three walks and one strikeout; Pohler finished out with five innings, one hit, three walks and seven strikeouts.
