Down 7-3 to Shiner after one quarter, the Poth Pirates scored four unanswered touchdowns over the final three quarters, including two following Shiner turnovers, to send the Comanches home with a 31-7 loss.
The Comanches (0-3) struggled with turnovers, turning the ball over four total times.
Poth got up 10-7 with 6:45 left in the first half on a 6-yard run by Gabriel Silansky. The Pirates recovered a fumble on the next possession and turned it into points on a 32-yard pass by Parker Stevens to Silansky for a 17-7 lead with 1:33 to go in the second quarter.
Poth took a 24-7 lead halfway through the third on a long 67-yard run by Colin Ramzinski and then intercepted a Carson Schuette pass on the next drive and capitalized with a 5-yard run by Stevens with 2:59 left in the third.  Poth recovered another fumble later in the quarter to kill any chance for Shiner to close the gap.
Shiner took the opening kickoff but was forced into a three-and-out; the Pirates got inside the Shiner 10 but had to settle for 24-yard field goal by Tobyn Noll.
Shiner then drove 88 yards in 10 plays and a 12-yard pass from Schuette to Kyle Muehlstein to get the Comanches on the board and in the lead, 7-3, with less than two minutes left in the first quarter.
Shiner was held in check on their run game with 173 yards on 42 rushes, led by Rakin Wallace (13-73) and Trace Bishop (13-42). Schuette completed 4-of-6 passes for 81 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Bishop had a 40-yard reception and Muehlstein had three grabs for 41 yards and one touchdown.
The Comanche defense forced two punts and picked up one interception.
For Poth, Ramzinski led the rushing game with 67 yards on his touchdown run and Stevens was 10-of-16 for 101 yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Silansky had six catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.
