The Sacred Heart Indians made short work of Baytown Christian in a TAPPS Division IV area playoff game here Tuesday, April 23 with a 10-0 victory.

Layne Sevcik blanked the Bulldogs with a five-inning no-hitter, walking just one with eight strikeouts.

Baytown Christian committed four errors making two runs unearned. The Indians had eight hits. Josh Terry was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Ty Noska, Emerson Harvey, Wade Shimek, Dillon Goedrich and Sevcik all singled.

Hudson Kutac, Shimek, Goedrich and Klayton Chance drove in runs.

SCHULENBURG 3, SH 2

The Indians stranded nine baserunners in a 3-2 loss to Schulenburg in a warm-up game in Schulenburg Friday.

The Tribe out-hit Schulenburg, 8-3.

Coach Mark Noska threw three pitchers in the game. Emerson Harvey started and went two innings and absorbed the loss. He gave up two runs, two hits, walked one and fanned two. Kellen Mechura went 2.1 innings and ceded a run and freepassed five. Dillon Goedrich worked 2.1 innings and walked one while allowing no hits.

SH didn’t score until the fifth inning when Ty Noska walked and scored on a passed ball.

The Indians pushed across another run in the sixth inning. Klayton Chance led off with a walk and scored on a double by Ty Noska.
