St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cards earn four-set win over SH

HALLETTSVILLE — The St. Paul volleyball team inched closer to the district title with a 3-1 win at Sacred Heart.The Lady Cardinals completed the regular-season district series with a 2-0 record after defeating the Indianettes 25-14, 25-13, 22-25, 25-11 on Oct. 17.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner splits with Lady Horns after 3-2 win

Chesney Machacek had 20 kills and JaMya Wright added another 16 as Shiner earned redemption against Schulenburg.The Lady Comanches needed the full five sets but turned away the Lady Shorthorns 24-26, 25-18, 25-16, 23-25 and 15-12 Oct. 15 in Shiner to split the regular-season district series.

Shiner football: Comanches shut down Beavers 21-3

Shiner and Falls City each had at least three trips inside the opponent’s 30 yard-line.It was the Comanches who did better capitalizing as they beat the Beavers 21-3 on Friday in their first varsity action since a 56-7 win over Luling Sept. 27.
