St. Paul volleyball: Pesek helps UMHB spikers to win in conference opener

St. Paul graduate Cameron Pesek played a good role in leading the The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 19-25, 25-21) over Howard Payne on Sept. 10 in Belton.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals push through in 3-0 win against Smithville

Two days previous, in their match at Shiner, the St. Paul volleyball team had some trouble finishing sets where they had leads.Thursday evening at home to Smithville, St. Paul found ways to push through the sets as they beat the Lady Tigers 26-24, 25-21, 25-20.

Shiner, St. Paul volleyball:Shiner wins cross-town VB match in four sets

The Lady Comanches team cohesion is coming along well which is extremely pleasing to head coach Desiree Nitsch.“The team chemistry and confidence is finally coming along and that we are starting to gel as a team,” she said.

St. Paul football: Cards crush CC John Paul II 47-0

Gus Collins’ 63-yard touchdown run on a reverse at the first play was a preview of how the night would go for St. Paul and Corpus Christi John Paul II.

Moulton cross country: Kittens, Katz both get third at home meet

Both varsity cross-country teams medaled on the home course Saturday at the Moulton meet at City Park.Varsity GirlsThe Kittens scored 78 points for third in the 1A-2A Varsity Girls.Karsyn Blahuta was the top finisher with sixth place in 13 minutes, 33.29 seconds and a 6:46 a mile pace.

SJS volleyball game vs. St. Rose

The St. Joseph Catholic School Volleyball Team played against St. Rose-Schulenburg Sept. 5.Allie Ferry made two points. Jarely Gutierrez had one ace and six points. Kaia Novicke had one point and Maleeyah Grant made one point. SJS lost both matches 17-25 and 13-25.The next game will be at 5:30 p.m.

Lady Bulldogs dominate Lady Mustangs by winning three

Devaeh Rios and Samantha Adamek each had 10 kills as the Lady Bulldogs made fast work of Nixon-Smiley Sept. 3 in Nixon during the at the volleyball matches, 25-6, 25-13, and 25-15.Amori Harper had two kills.Brianna Lopez produced two kills.Rios also had 12 digs.
