Moulton softball: Kittens get 10-1 win over Pettus in playoffs

Madison Rothbauer went 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI, run and stole two bases in the Kittens’ 10-1 win over Pettus Thursday in the regional quarterfinals in Ganado.The Kittens took a 2-0 lead in the third inning before adding three runs in the fourth and outscoring Pettus 2-1 in the fifth.

Brahmas win first-ever state track championship

Who would have thunk it! The Hallettsville Brahmas went to the UIL State Track and Field Championships Thursday at Mike A. Myers Stadium with just four athletes and shared a state championship with Yoakum with each scoring 36 points.

Shiner tennis: Shiner tennis secures district championship

Shiner recently competed in the 28-2A tennis tournament, taking home the district championship.In girls doubles, Meghan Blaschke and Chesney Machacek came in second. In girls singles, Callie Chrismon took first and Jennifer Arellano got third.

Shiner girls track: Shiner girls place seventh in state sprint relay

The Shiner girls track team had five athletes compete in the 2A division on Friday in the track event.The 400-relay team of Brinley Ramirez, JaMya Wright, Rylee Vancura and JaLeah Curtis took seventh place with a time of 49.86 seconds.Wright placed ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of  1:01.

St. Paul softball: Lady Cards beat AO 21-4

Mariah Jackson went 4-for-5 with a home run,double two RBI and two totals runs as St. Paul took down Huntsville Alpha Omega 21-4 in the area round Thursday in Madisonville.

Shiner baseball: Shiner beats Sabinal in sweep

KENEDY—  The Shiner Comanches beat Sabinal in two games, 13-0 and 3-1 last week in the bi-district playoff series held in Kenedy.
The Cardinals were unable to get a hit against Conroe Covenant but still scored two runs in the win.

St. Paul baseball: Comeback Cardinals

St. Paul got no hits but was able to score two seventh-inning runs to rally to beat Conroe Covenant Thursday in Bryan in the regional round to advance to the state tournament for the third straight season.

Shiner softball: Shiner softball sweeps Freer in area playoffs

KENEDY— The Shiner Lady Comanches sped past Freer 13-3 and 15-0 in the area-round series in Kenedy May 1 and 2.Shiner was set to start its regional-quarterfinals best-of-three against Charlotte yesterday in Karnes City. The series will continue tomorrow and Saturday if needed.

St. Paul track and field: Lady Cardinals track team wins 2024 state championship

HEWITT — The St. Paul girls track team concluded the 2024 season with a state championship. They scored 117.5 points to get past runner up First Baptist Academy who had 86 this past weekend at the TAPPS state meet at Panther Stadium in Hewitt.

Brahmas finish 10th

AUSTIN – The Hallettsville Brahmas ended up 10th at the UIL State Golf Championships at Grey Rock Golf Club Tuesday, April 30.The Brahmas shot 354-361-715. Brady Copley has been steady all season and carded an 80-80-160.
