The Shiner Comanches got the bats going in the first inning against Bloomington at home Friday.Shiner got five hits and scored eight runs to kick off a 15-0 win in four innings.The Comanches had 13 hits in the game led by Kaidan Boothe (three hits), Bode Werner (two hits) and Cale Shows (two hits).

Last week, the Cardinals baseball team won a district game at Bulverde Bracken and won at Pettus.SP 6, BB Christian 4The hits were plentiful in the 6-4 win at Bracken ChristianSt. Paul got 15 hits, led by Brody Biehunko who had three hits, double, RBI and Nate Boedeker who was 3-for-3, run, RBI.

Both Shiner varsity track and field teams picked up the district championship Thursday in Ganado.(All events are finals, unless noted; top four in varsity events advance to the area meet).Varsity GirlsShiner dominated with 239 points, 102 more than second-place Schulenburg.

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Bulldog Baseball Team won against Rice Consolidated April 2 and lost to Hallettsville in district games April 6.YOAKUM 10, RICE CONSOLIDATED 2Despite just six hits, the Bulldogs scored plenty of runs to down Rice Consolidated 10-2 on April 2 in Yoakum.

YHS Lady Bulldog Softball Team wins 17-0 against Rice Consolidated April 2

Destiny Rios contributed to the Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs’ 17-0 win against Rice Consolidated on April 2.Rios was 3-for-3 with three total runs, two home runs, a double, and seven RBI. Addison Pekar hit 2-for-2, triple two RBI, and a run.

ALTAIR – The Hallettsville Brahmas finished third in the District 25-AAA meet at Veterans Memorial Stadium Thursday.The LB won two first places. Elizabeth Felcman took the 3200-meter run in a personal and season best of 12:01.05 and Danna Jansky threw the shot 36 feet, 8 inches.
