Moulton girls basketball: JH girls win last game of season 54-7

The Moulton Junior High Kittens wrapped up their season with a 54-7 win over Prairie Lea on Feb. 5. Moulton outscored Prairie Lea 19-0 and 12-0 in the first two quarters. The Kittens went on an 18-3 run in the third frame and scored five of six points in the fourth frame.

Lady Bulldogs start district with draw, win

The Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team picked up a draw and a win in their first two district games. YOAKUM 4, SAN ANTONIO MEMORIAL 0 The number "4" is starting to become somewhat magical for the Lady Bulldogs Soccer Team.

Bulldogs place third at meet

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Powerlifting Team competed in the Texas Strength Systems (TSS) Meet on Feb. 2 in San Antonio, placing third with 31 points by getting two first-place medals and two runner-up medals.

Lady Bulldog lifters place 12th at recent meet

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs Powerlifting Team scored five points and placed twelfth in the St. Jospeh Power Fest Jan. 27 in Victoria. Deavia Johnson was second in the 181 class with a total of 605, 250 squat, 120 bench press, and 235 deadlift.

Lady Bulldogs beat Sharkettes, fall to Tidehaven

The Yoakum High School (YHS) Lady Bulldogs lost to Tidehaven on Jan. 30 and defeated Palacios on Feb. 2. Madison Gonzales and Olivia Fojt each scored nine points to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 39-23 win against the Sharkettes to improve the Lady Bulldog district record to 7-6.

Brahmas in another rebound win

VANDERBILT – The Hallettsville Brahmas had another rebound win, more than coach Brock Gerlich would like, with a 46-35 District 25-AAA victory over Industrial Friday night.

St Paul gains tie for first place

The Sacred Heart Indianettes suffered their first TAPPS District 5 Division loss to St. Paul, 38-36, in the SH Gym Monday night. Missed free throws and turnovers were to blame for the loss. The Indianettes were a mere 7 of 27 from the free-throw line and the teams combined for 50 turnovers.

Tribe racks up 7th district win in a row

The Sacred Heart Indians made it seven TAPPS District Division IV district wins in a row with a 58-46 beating of St. Paul here Monday night. The Indians led 19-12 at the end of the first quarter after Nic Angerstein scored on two treys and Andrew Steffek hit 9.
