Brahmas win JV Tournament

The Brahmas JV won the championship of their own tournament with a 5-1 verdict over Geronimo Navarro Saturday. The Brahmas scored two runs in the first on three hits and an error. Wyatt Kram doubled to lead off the frame and scored on a single by Nathan Henke. The final run scored on an error.

End of the road for Lady Brahmas in ot loss to Cole

GERONIMO – In the playoffs there are no doovers in the basketball playoffs. The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas let one get away in losing to San Antonio Cole, 56-53, in overtime in the Region IV-3A quarterfinals at Navarro High School Tuesday, Feb. 20.

'Nettes win bronze bracket

AUSTIN – The Sacred Heart Indianettes won the Bronze Bracket in the Hyde Park Baptist Tournament over the weekend. The Indianettes defeated Hyde Park, 16-0, Saturday. Haley Noska was the winning pitcher in the three-inning game. She gave up no hits and struck out all nine batters she faced.

Indians settle for 2nd in S'burg

SCHULENBURG – The Sacred Heart Indians finished second to Industrial in the Schulenburg Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In its final game Saturday, the Indians defeated Burton, 3-2. Kellen Mechura started and worked 3.2 innings before giving way to Josh Terry.

Lady Brahmas win Wimberley

WIMBERLEY – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas lapped the field in the Wimberley Tournament over the weekend in going 4-0. The LB (11-1) defeated Weimar, 8-5, Saturday in five innings in a game where the time limit caught up with the teams.

Shiner girls golf: LC golf get victory in Victoria

The Shiner girls golf team scored 402 points to win the Victoria Riverside Tournament on Feb. 21. The Lady Comanches squeezed out Industrial who had 409. Chelsea Whiddon scored a 92 for first-place medalist. Bri Sofka carded a 94 for third place.
