Indians gains tie for second

The Sacred Heart Indians overcame a barrage of three-pointers by Austin San Juan Diego Catholic and posted a 67- 60 victory in the SH Gym Saturday. The win pulled the Indians into a second place tie with the Saints in TAPPS District 5 Division IV.

Lady Brahmas gain tie for first with 63-40 verdict over Edna

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas waited 38 days to avenge the 59-31 loss to Edna in Edna Dec. 12. The wait was well worth it as the LB rolled to a 63-40 victory over Edna to gain a tie for first place with the Cowgirls in District 25-AAA here Friday night.

'Nettes decision Concordia, Waldorf

Sacred Heart won both of its games last week to stay undefeated in TAPPS District 5, Division IV. The Indianettes defeated Austin Waldorf, 30-27, in a low-scoring contest in Austin Thursday.

Youth sports: Shiner Stars 11IU win tournament

The Shiner Stars 11U team traveled to Waller to play in the 2024 11U PGBA January Blast baseball tournament on Saturday Sunday.  Battling the cold weather, the team went undefeated during the weekend to bring home the championship trophy in their first tournament of the season.

Shiner girls basketball: JH 8th girls get runner up at Yoakum Tournament

Shiner 8th grade JH girls hoops team earned the second- place trophy after falling to Yoakum in the championship game on Saturday in the Yoakum tournament.

Shiner girls basketball: JH 7th girls win Yoakum Tournament.

 Shiner 7th grade won the championship game against Flatonia to win the Yoakum tournament on Saturday.

St. Paul girls basketball: Moulton JV 21, SP JV 19

A 10-0 run in the final quarter got St. Paul junior varsity Lady Cardinals close but not close enough in a 21-19 loss at Moulton on Thursday. The Kittens took a 6-2 lead after the first frame and blanked St. Paul 7-0 in the second for a 13-2 halftime lead.
