Lady Brahma swimming

EL CAMPO – The Hallettsville Lady Brahma swim team competed in the El Campo Invitational Meet Saturday. Seventeen (17) schools were in the meet, mainly from 4A and 5A schools. Lauren Lundy was 5th in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.41 seconds and 5th in the 100-yard freestyle in 1:00.51.

Indianettes 57, OLH 21

KERRVILLE – Sacred Heart is 2-0 in TAPPS District 15 Division IV play after its 57-21 rout over Kerrville Out Lady of the Hills Friday. Three players were in double figures with Kaycee Schindler scoring a careerhigh 15 points, Ava Lackey 13 and Aleigh Kraatz 10.

2nd half blues fatal to Brahmas

Hallettsville did fine in the first half of its District 25-AAA opener with Altair Rice Consolidated here Friday night, but then came the final two quarters.

FAYETTEVILLE – Alaina Halata scored a career-high 20 points in the Hallettsville Lady Brahmas’ 64-27 victory over Fayetteville Monday afternoon. Included in Halata’s point total were 4 threepointers. The LB led 19-10 at the first break and lengthened the lead to 36-17 at the half.

Lady Brahmas thrash Rice Consolidated

After Hallettsville lost to Edna three days prior, Altair Rice Consolidated was the recipient of the Lady Brahmas’ wrath. The LB took a 72-26 victory in a 25-AAA game here Friday night.

Shiner basketball: Comanches fall to Bloomington after ‘Cats rally

After trailing for part of the second half, Shiner went on a good run to take a 40-38 lead in the fourth quarter against Bloomington. The Wildcats had other ideas as they went on a 17-2 run to deal the Comanches a 55-42 defeat in the district opener Friday in Shiner.
