Shiner cross country: Shiner cross country sends one to state

The Shiner cross-country program will have one runner at the state meet, senior Lady Comanche Hayleigh Burns. Varsity Girls Shiner came in No. 10 in the 2A Girls 3,200-meter run with 270 points. Burns was the top finisher with eighth place in 13 minutes, 11.62 seconds and a pace of 6:36 a mile.

Shiner volleyball: Shiner gets big win at Weimar

The Shiner Lady Comanches won at Weimar and beat Flatonia at home in district matches last week. Shiner 3, Flatonia 0 Serving, serve-receive, hitting and blocking was all done to head coach Desiree Nitsch’s satisfaction. Defense is where she would like the Lady Comanches to fine tune.

St. Paul volleyball: SP spikers get third with win over Waldorf

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals  were swept by rival Sacred Heart at home last week and turned around to sweep  Austin Waldorf in a rescheduled game this Monday to seal up third place. St.

St. Paul football: Lions blank Cards 40-0

It was a rough night for St. Paul against Central Texas Christian Friday night in Temple as the Cards lost a couple of players to injury. The Lions came up with a scoreboard shutout in a 40-0 win, leading 26-0 at halftime. Sam Perez led the St. Paul offense as he rushed eight times for 13 yards.

Lady Brahma Volleyball

'Nettes Finish Dist. Undefeated

SHINER – With the TAPPS District 5, Division IV title already in tow, the Sacred Heart Indianettes defeated St. Paul 25-20, 25-14, 25-16 Tuesday, Oct. 17. The first set was testy for the Indianettes.

Indians in Another Rout

The Sacred Heart Indians’ 45-17 victory over New Braunfels Christian Academy went as planned without glitches in a TAPPS District 5 Division IV game here Friday night. The Indians totaled 391 yards of offense and continued the trend of not turning the ball over.

Shiner football: Comanches hold their own against Refugio

The Shiner Comanches had no illusion about the mountain of a task they had on Friday night against Refugio. Shiner pinned its ears back and went after the Bobcats with all their might but came up short 26-7. “We competed our tails off.
