St. Paul boys basketball: St. Paul taken down by Indians 57-39

Trent Brown netted 12 points and two triples, and Joseph Twyford recorded 11 points and one tres as the Cards fell to Sacred Heart 57-39 Friday in Hallettsville. The Indians took control in the first frame with a 17-4 run and outscored St. Paul 14-13 in the second period.

Yoakum tennis: Yoakum hosting tournament this week

The Yoakum tennis team will be holding their home tournament tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday.  The tournament will start around 8 a.m. each day. The JV division will be played today and the varsity tournament will be played tomorrow.

Indianettes in lopsided win over Bracken Chrn.

By Chuck Grafe Sports Editor There are not many more adjectives left to describe the Sacred Heart Indianettes. The Indianettes cruised to another district victory in a 49-5 rout of Bulverde Bracken Christian School here Thursday night.

Yoakum football: Jones signs with Angelo State University

After  persevering through a tough senior football season, Bulldog running back Jayden Jones will get the chance to play at the next level. Jones signed a letter of intent for Angelo State University and the Rams football team last Wednesday.

Yoakum girls basketball; Yoakum 45, Palacios 29

Yoakum won its last district home game in a 45-29 dismantling of Palacios on Friday. Jayana Phillips led the Lady Bulldogs with 14 points. Yoakum led 11-6 after one quarter and slightly outscored Palacios 11-8 in the second box.
