Yoakum boys soccer: Bulldogs lose district opener to SA Memorial 7-0

It was not that great of a start to the district season for Yoakum’s boys soccer team. The Bulldogs were blanked by the San Antonio Memorial Minutemen 7-0 Friday night at Bulldog Stadium. SA Memorial tallied three goals in the first half and complemented with another four in the second.

Yoakum girls soccer: Yoakum ties San Antonio Memorial 0-0 in district opener

Yoakum had the lion’s share of scoring chances but could not get one in the back of the net. The Lady Bulldogs soccer team kicked off their district schedule with a 0-0 score Friday evening against San Antonio Memorial at Bulldog Stadium. Yoakum was scheduled to play its first district game on Jan.

Shiner boys basketball: Flatonia pulls away from Shiner in second half

FLATONIA — In the second district game against Flatonia,  the Comanches gave the Bulldogs a lot to handle. Especially in the first half as Flatonia led just 27-24 at halftime but went on a 41-28 run in the second half to down Shiner 68-52 Jan. 31 in Flatonia.

Shiner girls basketball: Lady Comanches secure district title with win at Flatonia

FLATONIA— Playing in Flatonia is never an easy task for the Lady Comanches. Shiner met that challenge head on to deliver a 50-35 win over the Lady Bulldogs on Jan. 31 and that victory improved Shiner to 10-0 in district and sealed up the district championship and No. 1 playoff seed.

Moulton girls basketball: Kittens beat A-T

The trio of Mary-Claire O’Leary, Estefania Colchado and Torin Langston led the Kittens by to a 63-21 win at Austwell-Tivoli Friday as they combined for 40 points — O’Leary had 16 points, Colchado had 14 points and Langston bagged 10 points.

Yoakum boys basketball: Brahmas survive Bulldogs 55-51

In recent games, Yoakum has been in a position for a win but unable to close the deal.   Last Friday at home against the Hallettsville Brahmas,  the Bulldogs had a 51-47 lead with just under three minutes left in the game. The Brahmas went on a 8-0 run to take a 55-51 victory.

Yoakum girls basketball: Lady Bulldogs edge Hallettsville in thriller

It was a no-holds barred affair when Hallettsville Lady Brahmas visited Yoakum on Friday. The Lady Bulldogs pulled off a small fourth-quarter rally to take a 38-36 win. “From start to finish, on both offense and defense, “ Lady Bulldogs head coach Ashton Phillips said.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards handle Kerrville OLH 73-23

Every Lady Cardinal got in on the action Thursday at home against Kerrville Our Lady of the Hills. A total of 13 players for St. Paul got in the scorebook, led by Julia Machacek who bagged 19 points. St.
