Shiner volleyball: Lady Comanches play Yorktown in bi-district round

Playoff season has arrived for the Lady Comanches volleyball team. Shiner will take on Yorktown in the bi-district round at 7 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 1) at the District Events Center in Victoria. Address is 1006 Sam Houston which is the location of the aquatics center and the DEC is located next to it.

St. Pau volleyball: Lady Cards energetic in sweep over San Marcos HC in warmup game

The Lady Cardinals volleyball team returned to the court after a nine-day break with plenty of passion. St. Paul shut out San Marcos Hill Country in a playoff-warmup match 25-14, 25-21, 25-114 last Thursday at St. Paul High School, two days before the start of their postseason campaign.

Yoakum football: Bulldogs face Hempstead this week

The Yoakum Bulldogs play their final regular-season away game with a trip to Hempstead this week. “We are looking forward to playing a team that is no in the top 10,” Yoakum head coach Bo Robinson said. The Bobcats have struggled this year so far with a 1-7 record and are 0-2 in district play.

Yoakum cross country: Martinez wins place at state meet

Following the regional meet, Yoakum will have one competitor at the state cross country meet. Boys The Yoakum boys came in No. 16 in the team standings at the Region IV-3A championships on Tuesday. Clayton Hlavac was No. 77 in 19 minutes, 5.52 seconds and had a pace of 6:10 a mile.

Yoakum football: Columbus uses big second half to defeat Bulldogs
