Whatever happened to the disc golf course?

It’s one of the questions I’ve heard several times now around Shiner, especially among those which take place at Green Dickson Park: Whatever happened to the disc golf course? For months, I couldn’t have told you, to be honest.

St. Paul volleyball: Lady Cardinals JV wins San Marcos Hill Country Tournament

The Lady Cardinals junior varsity volleyball team took first place in the San Marcos HC Tournament Sept. 16-17. They took first in their pool on Sept. 16 and went undefeated on Sept. 17.

Yoakum hosts nearby Gonzales for 2022 Homecoming as the Bulldogs return home., Yoakum had a tough start to the season going 0-3 in the first three weeks before edging PL Calhoun 28-21 to start heading in a better direction. The Apaches, with a 2-2 record, have already matched last year’s win total.

Shiner football: Comanches end non-district schedule with 49-7 win at East Bernard

Dalton Brooks rushed for 183 yards and three touchdowns to lead Shiner to a 49-7 win at East Bernard on Friday to conclude non-district action. Quarterback Ryan Peterson threw for 64 yards and a touchdown to Drew Wenske while running for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Area cross country: Shiner girls win small-school varsity

Shiner and St. Paul cross-country teams ran in the Shiner meet at Green-Dickson Park on Saturday. Shiner won the 1A-2A girls varsity division while St. Paul Lady Cardinals took third place. St. Paul Varsity Girls The Lady Cardinals placed third in the  1A-2A division with 70 points.

The Moulton Bobkatz won the varsity boys race and the Kittens were in fifth at the Shiner meet on Saturday. Varsity Girls The Kittens placed fifth with 124 points. Estefania Colchado got No. 14 in 13 minutes, 49.20 seconds. Kayle Trejo was No. 24 in 14:29.71; Karsyn Blahuta was No.
