Young Shiner golfers compete in tournament, take part in clinic

Several Shiner youth golfers  participated in a two-day golf clinic in Yoakum and competed in the Yoakum Junior Golf tournament on June 22 at the Yoakum Municipal Golf Course. Girls In the 8-9 division (four holes), Brooklyn Chilek and Wren Chilek each scored a 28 to tie for first.

The Shiner High School cheer squads attended UCA Summer Home Camp at the SHS Gym on June 20-22. UCA Instructors Angel and Keely taught various cheers, sidelines, dances, and stunts.  All three squads earned a Superior Trophy and can't wait to cheer on the Braves and Comanches this football season.

Shiner track athlete Riley Rainosek was named to the 2022 Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) All-State Team.Rainosek helped the Lady Comanches win the district, area and regional titles. She competed at state in the 800-meter run and the mile-relay.

Future Lady Comanches (3-5 graders) and (6-8 graders) attended this years basketball skills and drills camp. Each attendee received a camp T-shirt and some were lucky enough to go home with a camp basketball donated by Wrangler Trucking. Instructors, Coach Neal and Mrs.
