Squaws eliminate LB

Jourdanton swept the Lady Brahmas in the area round of the playoffs 9-1 and 4-0.The LB had a lack of offense because of the pitching of Jourdanton’s Hailey Sralik.The LB (23-6) had only two hits in the 4-0 victory here Friday afternoon and only had three runners as far as second base.

Brahmas sweep KC; Marion on deck

Pitching has been the Hallettsville Brahmas’ calling card all season.Coach Chad Gohlke got outstanding pitching from three hurlers to sweep Karnes City 2-1 and 11-0.The Brahmas, 25-2, will meet Marion in a bestof-three series starting Thursday with the first game here at 7 p.m.

Indians dispatch Eagles to advance to State Tourney

VICTORIA – The Sacred Heart Indians advanced to the TAPPS Division IV state tournament with a 9-4 victory over Brazosport Christian School at Riverside Park Tuesday, April 29.The Sevcik brothers - Layne and Trent - led the win.Layne Sevcik was the starting and winning pitcher.

'Nettes State bound

WALLER – The Sacred Heart Indianettes punched their ticket to the state tournament with a 23-0 mauling of Huntsville Omega School Tuesday, April 29 in a TAPPS Division IV game.SH banged out 16 hits with five going for extra bases.Avery Beach homered and was the winning pitcher.

Youth sports: Shiner Junior League softball gets third at Lockhart Tournament

The Shiner Junior League girls traveled to Lockhart to compete in a Little League Tournament featuring teams from around the area. Over the course of five games, the Shiner girls showed determination, finishing with a 3–2 record. Their only losses came against strong teams from Lockhart and Yoakum.

St. Paul softball: BSJ scores seventh-inning, walk-off run to edge SP 5-4

MANOR — Down 4-1 after five innings, the St. Paul Lady Cardinals came back.In their regional game Thursday evening against Bryan St. Joseph, St. Paul scored two runs in the top of the sixth and seventh innings.

Shiner softball: Lady Comanches defeat FC in two games

Shiner made quick work of Falls City in the area round Thursday in Seguin with a 13-6 win in the opener and 12-2 run rule in the second game.Shiner 13, FC 6 (Game 1)The Lady Comanches rallied from three runs down to win the opener 13-6 on Thursday.After two and half frames, Falls City led 3-0.

Shiner track and field: Wright, Vesely competed at state track and field meet

The Shiner track and field team had two contestants at the state meet last weekend. JaMya Wright tied for eighth in the high jump with Frankston’s Kaysie Nabors. Wright cleared 4 feet, 8 inches on her first attempt, and got 4-10 and 5-0 on the first attempt as well.

St. Paul track and field: Lady Cardinals win team bronze at state track

The Lady Cardinals scored 76.5 points for third place in the TAPPS state track and field meet Friday and Saturday at Hewitt Midway ISD’s Panther Stadium. The Cardinals scored 30 points for No. 11.St. Paul won two Silver and three Bronze medals.

Shiner girls golf: LC golf gets 8th at state

The Lady Comanches golf team placed eighth at the 2A state tournament early last week in Austin.Shiner shot 412 on the first day and 415 on the second day for a total of 827.Morgan Lenehan led the Lady Comanches with 95-102-197.
