Dowell named head football coach/AD at Sacred Heart

Coach Rodney Dowell has been around the block so to speak.Dowell signed a contract last week to became the new head football coach/AD at Sacred Heart.He will replace Alex Seydler, who resigned after two seasons at Sacred Heart.“I love Hallettsville,” Dowell said.

Cameron defeats Indians

Cameron Yoe defeated the Sacred Heart Indians here Monday, March 3, 7-0.Yoe pitcher Homer Najera held the Indians to one hit, a second inning single by Trent Ferry.Xavier Gilman had two hits for Yoe who was aided by three Tribe errors.

FLATONIA – The Sacred Heart Indianettes copped three wins in the Flatonia Tournament held Thursday and Saturday.Nettes 4, Luling 1Kenzie Chance hit a two-run homer in the third inning in the victory over Luling Thursday.

LB extend win streak to 8 games

Hallettsville extended its win streak to eight in a row with a 4-0 District 25- AAA victory over Edna here Friday night.Pitcher Grace Halata had a lot to do with the win and threw a complete game four-hitter and produced a 2 for 2 performance at the plate with two RBI singles.

Navarro wins Jimmy Appelt Tourney

The Geronimo Navarro Panthers won the 18th Annual Jimmy Appelt Tournament held over the weekend.The Panthers had the same record as Hallettsville at 3-1 but won the tournament by virtue of a 2-1 victory over the Brahmas Friday night.
