The Sacred Heart Indians have picked a bad time of the season to play bad basketball.The Indians suffered their fourth loss in a row in dropping a 53-33 decision to San Antonio Atonement Academy here Friday.

SP wins District title

The St. Paul Lady Cardinals spoiled Parents Night for the Sacred Heart Indianettes and won the TAPPS District 5 Division championship in the process with a 56-31 victory here Tuesday, Feb. 4.SP leapt out to a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter behind 7 points by Kristin Cerny.

LB clinch 3rd with win over Palacios

PALACIOS – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas left no doubt in a 44-30 victory over Palacios to clinch third place in District 25-AAA Tuesday, Feb. 4.Alaina Halata poured in 21 points and was backed by Addison Matula’s 13 to lead the win.

St. Paul girls basketball: Lady Cards secure district championship

The St. Paul girls basketball team nabbed the district title by winning the return to Sacred Heart Feb. 4 and defeated Victoria Faith  Academy on Friday.St. Paul 68, Victoria Faith Academy 30The St. Paul Lady Cardinals had  two players score 20 or more in the final regular-season game.

Local youth sports:Sweet Digs 15U takes runner up in tournament

The Shiner 15U Sweet Digs Volleyball team persevered through the Force FSC #1 Tournament in San Antonio on Feb 1st and got second place.

Shiner girls basketball: Schulenburg JV 29, Shiner JV 23

Arabella Carlisle scored nine points as the Lady Comanches junior varsity capped the season with a 29-23 loss at Schulenburg on Feb. 4.The Lady Comanches led 10-6 after the first quarter and a 7-2 run by the Lady Shorthorns put them ahead 13-12 at halftime.

Shiner girls basketball: LC close out regular season with win

SCHULENBURG — Trailing by three to start the second half, the Shiner Lady Comanches needed a spark.They got one and got it well in senior JaMya Wright who scored 10 of 15 points and got plenty of rebounds on both ends of the court as Shiner outscored the Lady Shorthorns 28-17 for a 51-43 win Feb.
