YLL Opening Day Games: March 8

The Yoakum Little League (YLL) will hold Opening Day Games March 8 at City Park Field/ Major Boys Field in Yoakum.Both boys and girls games will be played after the ceremony. Tidehaven 4, LB 3

EL MATON – Tidehaven scored four runs in the fourth inning and went on to a 4-3 victory in the District 25-AAA opener for both teams Tuesday, Feb. 25.Grace Halata was the hard luck loser. She ceded four runs (two unearned) five hits, walked two and struck out five.

Hyde Park 11, SH 5

AUSTIN - Austin Hyde Park hit five home runs in an 11-5 victory over Sacred Heart Tuesday, Feb. 25.The Lady Panthers hit five home runs in the contest, all five solo shots.Sacred Heart scored all of its runs in the sixth inning.

Tigers 4, Indians 2

Tidehaven scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to break a 2-all tie and went on to defeat the Sacred Heart Indians, 4-2, here Tuesday, Feb. 25.Tidehaven scored its runs on one hit, two walks and an error.

Lady Brahmas win, 3-0

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas defeated Wharton, 3-0, in Wharton Tuesday, Feb. 25.The LB welcomed back Kaisly Bludau and she scored the first two goals of the game.Avery Woodring got on the end of a Keyona Price cross to score the third goal in the second half.

Shiner wins Sacred Heart Tournament

An eleventh hour rally fell short as Shiner edged the Sacred Heart Indians, 9-8, in the finals of the 39th Annual SH Tournament Saturday night.The Comanches led 9-2 entering the bottom of the seventh before SH scored six runs on two hits, two walks and a hit batsman.

'Nettes finish 2nd

The Sacred Heart Indianettes finished second in its Second Annual Booster Club Tournament Thursday, Friday and Saturday.Shiner finished first, Yoakum third, Austin Hyde Park fourth and Tidehaven fifth.A 5-0 loss to Tidehaven prevented the Indianettes from taking the championship.

Lady Brahmas rule Weimar

WEIMAR – The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas won (9-2) the Weimar Tournament for the second year in a row with six victories.LB 4, Weimar 0Grace Halata pitched a two-hitter with two strikeouts in the 4-0 victory Saturday night. She also doubled and drove in a run.
