Shiner football: Shiner handles Granger challenge 43-23 in regional semis

SMITHVILLE — Not since a mid-October game against district opponent Falls City has Shiner been involved in a challenging or close game.Friday night at Tiger Field in the 2ADII  regional semifinals against Granger, the Comanches were challenged by both the Lions and the Shiner coaches.

Indianettes lose season opener

Turnovers told the tale of Yoakum’s 50-34 victory over Sacred Heart in the season opener for the Indianettes here Tuesday, Nov. 19.SH could not get out of its own way with 41 turnovers in the contest to Yoakum’s 20.The difference was the Lady Bulldogs had just 6 floor errors in the second half.

Brahmas 52, Flatonia 47

Hallettsville won its season opener, 52-47, over Flatonia here Friday.Flatonia led 30-29 at the half prior to Hallettsville winning the third and fourth quarters and out-scoring the Bulldogs 23-17 in the second half.

Sacred Heart's chance of winning foiled by turnovers

Shiner girls basketball: Four score in doubles for Shiner in win over Edna

Morgan Lenehan deposited 22 points and one triple to lead Shiner Lady Comanches to 70-55 win over Edna Saturday at home.Three other Lady Comanches had 10 points or more: Callie Sevcik had a triple and sank 19 points.
