Shiner football: Comanches cage big Tigers 54-7 in area round

JOURDANTON — In most, if not all, of their games this year so far, the Shiner Comanches have matched up against opponents with larger players.And in every game, Shiner did not back down.The Comanches battled Brackett in the 2ADII area round at Indian Stadium in Jourdanton on Friday night.

Shiner softball: Shiner softball team has three sign letters of intent

The Shiner softball team had a hat trick of players signing to play at the college level. Seniors Brinley Ramirez, Dyllan Chrismon and Jo Caka signed with University of Kansas, Nelson University (formerly known as Southwest Assemblies of God) and Oklahoma Wesleyan University Nov. 14.

Shiner volleyball:Iola ends Shiner’s historical season in state semifinals

BRENHAM —  Shiner’s deepest playoff run in years came to an end at the hands of a defending state champion.Shiner gave the Iola Lady Bulldogs all they could handle but came up short in three sets Nov. 18 at Blinn College’s Kruse Center in Brenham.

Moulton boys basketball: Katz experience with a couple of presses in win over Bartlett

The Moulton Bobkatz ran a couple of different press systems and it worked out for them.The Katz were able to mount a comeback in the second half to defeat Bartlett 38-32 Nov. 19 at home.“We went to our regular press and it worked out alright,” Katz head coach John Meisetschleager said.

Bulldogs win first playoff game in four years

The Yoakum Bulldogs opened their journey to Arlington this past Friday night in Hutto against the Trojans of Troy High School.The Bulldogs were led offensively by Trae Cuellar who accounted for 414 total yards and five touchdowns, with three rushing and two passing touchdowns.

LB surge past Gonzales

The Hallettsville Lady Brahmas put away Gonzales, 49-38, with a strong second half here Tuesday, Nov. 12.The teams were tied at 24-all at the big break before Hallettsville scored nine unanswered points to begin the third quarter with Kasey Harper scoring four of them and never looked back.

Franklin defeats Brahmas for the third year in a row

WALLER – The outcome of the HallettsvilleFranklin bi-district game was expected.The Lions roared to a 48-6 victory in the 3A, Division I bi-district game at Waller ISD Stadium Thursday night.
