District voters approve two HISD bond propositions

Hallettsville Independent School District voters passed Propositions A and B of the proposed 2024 bond, approving $11.1 million for safety and security upgrades at every campus and expansion and renovation of the junior high.

Hallettsville Elem. opens STEM Center

In partnership with the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, Devon Energy opened its 150th science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) Center at Hallettsville Elementary last Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Local filings period ended on Feb. 16

The deadline for candidates filing to run for positions on the Hallettsville ISD Board of Trustees, the Hallettsville City Council and the Lavaca Hospital District Board of Directors ended this past Friday, Feb. 16 with each entity reporting candidates who have filed.

HISD Board discusses/approves various agenda items

A mixed bag of approving agenda items and discussions of items topped the HISD Board of Trustees meeting Monday night. The trustees okayed a bond election for Saturday, May 4. No particulars of the bond were not announced. Rain has delayed completion of the parking lot east of the high school.
