The Lady Cardinals cross-country team won a Bronze medal at the state cross-country meet on Monday. St. Paul scored 79 points with Amarillo Ascension Academy coming second with 69 points and Spring Providence Classical taking the 2A title with 68 points.

The Lady Cardinals volleyball team returned to the court after a nine-day break with plenty of passion. St. Paul shut out San Marcos Hill Country in a playoff-warmup match 25-14, 25-21, 25-114 last Thursday at St. Paul High School, two days before the start of their postseason campaign.

Sister Mary Catherine got called up to the majors once again this year, Shiner Catholic Schools reported. She received the phone call Wednesday, Oct. 12, that she is needed in Houston to help the Astros.

Trailing Sacred Heart 24-22 with less than five minutes left in the game, St. Paul scored 16 points to overtake the Indians and win the district oopner 38-24 on Friday. Zane Barta scored on a 5-yard run with 4:51 mark to put the Cardinals ahead 30-24 after he also scored the two-point play.
